Our Ladies II squad finish their inaugural season on a great high.
From a team that were introducing themselves to each other at their first match, they’ve grown into a formidable force.
This squad has been a wonderful opportunity for our younger players to experience Ladies Football and for adult players to ease themselves back to match-level fitness after injury.
This mix of youth and experience has combined superbly this year resulting in a high mid-table finish for our squad in their first year of existence.
There are a lot of people to thank who worked tirelessly to put this squad together. Brian Moroney took on the management of the team and put in the effort to ensure we fielded every week. While Jen Conlon - along with baby bump Odhrán 👶🏻 -demonstrated commitment beyond the call of duty. Her enthusiasm and experience were crucial to the development of the team in merging player talent and building on performances.
Huge thanks to all the juvenile players who played for the team. They were crucial to making it work and are to be commended for the effort and maturity they displayed on the pitch. It was wonderful to see their talents shine so brightly!
In thanking everyone, we’d be remiss if we didn’t mention the monumental support received from our magnificent U15 squad. These girls took a major step up to play adult football and were always available when needed.
It’s this Club-first attitude that has been the cornerstone of the squad’s success.
Ní neart go cur le cheile.
