Our Lotto continues to break records and remains as popular as ever. We have some stellar people putting in an incredible shift every week to ensure this continues to be as popular as ever. So kudos once again to Mick Berrigan, Amanda Kavanagh, Paul Kiernan and Fiachra O’Mathuna. Tonight’s jackpot is €13,100 so as they saying goes ‘if you’re not in you can’t win.’
The online option is on our agenda but while progress has been slow it is incumbent upon us as Officers of the Club to make sure it’s a fully functioning addition that we can all be happy with. More news about this soon…
To support the discussion & future development of a structured coaching framework for our club, we’re delighted to announce that prominent GAA coach Paudie Butler will give us a presentation on Juvenile Development & Coaching of Young Players at DPETNS this Monday 08 May 20h00.
This should be of great interest to parents of young players & coaches alike. The presentation will be followed by a short Discussion / Q&A and is open to all Adult Club Members as well as parents.

A superb event from start to finish; huge credit needs to go first and foremost to the organisation committee led by Veronica Duggan and very ably assisted by Kate O’Dowd, Karen Fullam and Brian Moroney.
An event like Stars In Their Eyes takes an extraordinary effort to coordinate successfully and it really was a credit to all involved. The variety of acts and performances, the level of effort and preparation that went into each was above and beyond, the colourful nature of our judging panel, the irreverent and polished Master of Ceremonies in Austin Shields and the co-operation & hospitality of the hotel all made for an outstanding event. And we raised a few quid in the process! Well done all.
A sincere note of thanks to Tesco & Michael McCarthy who sponsored the event to the tune of €5,000 for which we are very grateful; it’s a relationship we hope to build on into the future.
The photo above is of the moment that our Sister Act Group found out that they’d won. Click here to see a video of their winning performance. Click here to see all the photos from the night. There are videos of the other wonderful acts on the night too. If you’re not on Facebook, don’t worry, our website stpatsgaa.com shows the Facebook feed on the home page.
Our Hurlers had a handsome win last Sunday in the Championship beating Civil Service 3-17 to 0-08.
We wish them continued success!
Another tricky start for our Adult Footballers but a very young team back-boned now by a cohort of extremely talented Minor Footballers, who have come through to the Senior ranks over the last year or two, have been making incremental improvements week by week.
Our Ladies squad began their League Campaign with a 5-11 to -03 against a strong Crumlin side. Then then followed this up with a 3-09 to 1-11 win against Ranelagh Gaels.

It’s been another super effort by the members to get the Membership across the line for 2017. There is still a little way to go for some of our non-playing members but overall it’s been an excellent return and a very fine job from new Club Registrar Brian Moroney in his first season in the role.
We as a club are extremely grateful and very much appreciate the massive effort made by all our members to get this one over the line in a timely fashion. Our existence, short and medium terms strategies depend on it and it is never taken for granted.
Membership can be paid online via MyClubFinance.
The CC250 Club has been a huge success thus far but we are only at the half way point. Below is a bullet point brief on where things stand currently and as you can see progress is ongoing and the potential is endless. We need to finish the job now and encourage a wider spread and uptake to really take advantage of what we feel will be THE gamechanger in the club’s capital development.
- We have over €20,000 raised so far; we have 123 people committed to Capital Club 250, most of whom are signed up on a monthly basis
- We managed to secure an interest free loan to add to the funds that we have raised ourselves
- The Club submitted an application for a grant from the Government ahead of the deadline last month. We are in very good shape. It’s now a matter of crossing fingers and hoping that the grant will come through. If it does (we will know in September), we will be starting construction of our All Weather Astro Training Facility towards the end of the year or early in 2018
- Almost half-way to our target of 250 families contributing. Together we are transforming our Club and together we’re going to leave a fabulous legacy for the young people of Donabate and Portrane
