St Pats GAA Club, residing on the peninsula of Donabate / Portrane is the biggest sporting organisation in the area, with nearly 600 active playing members and 200 non-playing members.
Based in Ballymastone, the club has an extensive playing area, with 2 existing full-sized playing pitches and a recently acquired full-Sized new pitch in addition to Juvenile Pitches/training areas and a clubhouse/dressing rooms. The club is committed to developing and improving its playing facilities over time to include an all-weather playing pitch, increased flood-lighting and changing facilities to cater for the growing demand for Gaelic Games in the area.
Our aim is to be an established leader in organising, developing and promoting Gaelic Games in North Dublin and to be at the heart of the Donabate/Portrane community, providing a positive, fun, challenging and inclusive experience for all our members – on and off the pitch.
At Adult level, the club fields both a Senior and a Junior football team, a Junior Hurling team and a Ladies football team. We also field Minor football teams for Men’s and Ladies Football.
We have a vibrant Juvenile Section, with ever-increasing numbers, fielding over 20 Juvenile teams (300+ players) in addition to a thriving Academy section.
2014 marks the club’s 90th year anniversary and plans are afoot to celebrate this great milestone in style.
In 2012 the club graduated to the senior ranks for the first time in its history and coupled with a growing Ladies Section, a conveyor belt of talent coming through from our Juvenile section and a recently established Hurling section, the future of the club over the next 90 years looks very bright indeed.
